Maria Marvila (Barcelona, 1991) perceives the environment as a living organism and practices a sensitive approach through her artistic practice. A practice in constant mutation, since it is alive too, which is nourished by weaving affective bonds with the animated beings that she encounters in her drifts through the territory. Her work is experiential, tactile and visual at the same time, and often includes natural elements spiked from the earth. She is Master in Production and Artistic Research and Graduated in Fine Arts for the Universitat de Barcelona and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Her work has been presented in diverse places as in FIAC Cinéphémère, Paris, curated by Carolina Ciuti; in Fabra i Coats – Centre d’Art Contemporani, Barcelona; in Despina, Rio de Janeiro; in MECÀNIC, Barcelona, curated by Magali Avezou; in lokal_30, Warsaw, in collaboration with Mary Szydlowska; and in Córtex Frontal, Arraiolos.
