FÈLIX PONS

Barcelona, 1972

The work of Fèlix Pons (Barcelona, 1972) is expressed through diverse media and materials (drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, graphic work) and prioritizes foremost the research, the manual production of artistic objects and the creative process before the end result. Typically he starts with autobiographical aspects that link to topics of interest such as: ancestral vs contemporary, the semiotics of the symbolic, archeology, maps, stories of memory, the construction of the self, childhood as a lost paradise and the human body. His recent work has focused on exploring his relationship with Mallorca, his father’s homeland, and the island as an archetypal space, as well as the Mediterranean sea and culture as heritages to preserve. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in Germany, Switzerland and Spain.
